#111 | Michael Bartura - How Positive Neuroplasticity & Agile Thinking Meet

Agile Ideas Episode 111

Michael Bartura is currently a leadership coach for the Asian Leadership Institute Consultancy. For over three decades, Michael has been working with teams across manufacturing, education, health, hospitality and the Not for Profit sectors with a specific passion and focus on training and organisational development. With senior management experience in four continents, he brings to the table a well-refined cross-cultural mentoring capacity and a managerial acumen amassed in both not-for-profit and business contexts.

In this episode, Fatimah and Michael discuss the concept of positive neuroplasticity, highlighting the brain's remarkable ability to adapt and change throughout our lives. They deep dive into the fact that our brain is not a fixed entity but rather a product of our cumulative experiences. This notion challenges the traditional belief that our brain is hardwired and unchangeable.

They then explore the distinction between coaching and leadership, emphasising the importance of combining both coaching and leadership skills to foster growth and development within teams.

Some of the key points covered in this episode include:

  • The impact of our brain's flexibility and its relation to coaching, leadership, and organisational culture
  • The distinction between coaching and leadership
  • Cultural impacts within organisations on employee engagement, productivity, and overall well-being
  • Growing and strengthening individual resilience
  • Using microlearning to enhance knowledge retention and continuous learning in today's fast-paced world
  • And much more...
